American Business Appraisers National Network

 

The American Business Appraisers (ABA) is a national network of approximately 20 independent business appraisal firms across the United States.  ABA members have extensive experience in appraising ownership interests in closely held businesses for a variety of purposes.  ABA members hold more than 80 business valuation certifications and are qualified to meet all of your business valuation needs.  Independent Appraisal, LLC, is the Northern California affiliate of the American Business Appraisers National Network.

The Institute of Business Appraisers

 

The Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) was established in 1978 and is the oldest professional society devoted solely to the appraisal of closely held businesses.  The IBA grants its members the Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) designation and the Master Certified Business Appraiser (MCBA) designation.  The CBA accreditation designates the appraiser as a true professional in his/her field, worthy of the admiration of fellow appraisers and deserving the fullest confidence of clients and potential clients.  The MCBA is the highest professional designation awarded in the business valuation industry, and recognizes the extraordinary competence of a few highly skilled and experienced individuals whose work has been widely accepted by clients and acknowledged by their most senior professional colleagues.

American Society of Appraisers

 

The American Society of Appraisers (ASA) is an organization of appraisal professionals and others interested in the appraisal profession. International in structure, the ASA is the oldest and only major appraisal organization representing all of the disciplines of appraisal specialists. The ASA grants the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation.  ASA business valuation analysts have been recognized and accorded expert status by a variety of both U.S. and international courts and governmental agencies. Accreditation by the American Society of Appraisers in Business Valuation is acknowledgment that the business valuation professional has reached the top of his/her profession.

National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts

 

The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) supports the users of business and intangible asset valuation services and financial forensic services, including damages determinations of all kinds and fraud detection and prevention, by training and certifying financial professionals in these disciplines.  The NACVA grants the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation.  Through training and rigorous testing, CVAs demonstrate they are qualified to provide capable and professionally executed valuation services.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

 

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and its predecessors have been serving the accounting profession since 1887.  The AICPA is committed to member service and the public interest.  The AICPA grants the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation.  An ABV is a CPA credentialed as a business appraisal specialist and recognized for a unique ability to bridge between business valuation and accounting principles and standards.

Society of Financial Service Professionals

 

The Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) is a multidisciplinary network of credentialed financial service professionals. The Society was founded in 1928 by the first CLU graduates of The American College.   From its original 21 members, the Society has grown to approximately 18,000 members who are active in nearly 180 local chapters across the United States.

ESOP Association

 

The ESOP Association represents the interests of all corporations that sponsor employee stock ownership plans, or ESOPs.  Founded in 1978, the ESOP Association provides advocacy and educational services on behalf of its members.  Corporate membership in The ESOP Association is open to all ESOP companies.  Members range from closely held businesses to large public companies, and include both C and S corporations, across all industries.
